He never thought that he would get "that old". Now he thinks a lot more about heaven.

Born to first-generation parents near the end of WW2, his earliest memories include playing in the fields that surrounded the house that his dad was building at 4731 Berryman Avenue, Culver City, CA.

She was destined to be the child of parents who couldn't hold it together.  When she got old enough to wonder about such things, she would ask herself, "Am I the reason they got married?"

Whatever was the case, Hazel and Paul, her parents, got a divorce when she was about 5 years old.
